– The Centre Culturel Le Chenail hopes to be in its new location in the centre of town this week, as it moves to the Knights of Columbus building, located at 393 William Street in Hawkesbury. Until Le Chenail moves into its new location, office space at C. L. Charest Realty Corp. in Hawkesbury is being used, courtesy of Roger Charest. Le Chenail will hold its annual meeting on May 15 at 7 p.m. at its new location on William Street after ending its first year since renewal of the group.
Immediately following the meeting, actor and Franco-Ontarian musician André Thériault will present an tribute to Félix Leclerc. The show is free for all registered members, but others can purchase tickets for just $10. The show takes place at 8:15 in the Knights of Columbus Hall on William Street.
Le Chenail is also currently recruiting a coordinator for its summer arts camp. Candidates can call 613-632-4087 or 613-632-3735 for information. Candidates must submit their resumés by Friday, April 25.
In the meantime, registration for the summer arts camps is ongoing. The camps, for youths aged 6 to 12 years, takes place during July and also during the first two weeks of August if registration permits. Visual arts, voice, music, dance, theatre and improvisation will be featured during the summer arts camp. Children can register at 393 William Street in Hawkesbury. The arts camps will take place at three elementary schools in the region, in L’Orignal, Hawkesbury and in St-Eugène.
During May, Le Chenail will host an art exhibit featuring the work of Violaine Séguin and her students.
